
AFCAT 01/2026
The Indian Air Force (IAF) has released the AFCAT 01/2026 notification to recruit 340 Officers for different branches:
- Flying Branch
- Ground Duty (Technical)
- Ground Duty (Non-Technical)
- NCC Special Entry
Important Dates
- Apply Online From: 17 November 2025
- Last Date to Apply: 14 December 2025
- Exam Date: 31 January 2026
Total Vacancies: 340 Posts
Vacancies are divided into:
- Men & Women
- Permanent Commission (PC)
- Short Service Commission (SSC)
Different branches have different numbers of posts like Flying, Technical, Administration, Logistics, Accounts, Education, etc.
Eligibility (Education)
1. Flying Branch
- Graduation + Physics & Maths in 12th,
OR - BE/B.Tech
2. Ground Duty Technical
- BE/B.Tech in specific engineering streams.
3. Ground Duty Non-Technical
- Graduation / Post Graduation (depending on branch).
Age Limit (as on 01-01-2027)
Flying Branch
- 20 to 24 years
- CPL holders: up to 26 years
Ground Duty (Tech/Non-Tech)
- 20 to 26 years
Salary
- Flying Officer Pay Level 10: ₹56,100 – ₹1,77,500 per month
- MSP: ₹15,500
- Training Stipend: ₹56,100 per month
- Extra allowances for Flying, Technical, Transport, Hard areas, etc.
Application Fee
- AFCAT Entry: ₹550 + GST
- NCC Special Entry: No fee
Selection Process
1. AFCAT Written Exam
- Conducted on 31 January 2026
2. AFSB Interview
- Stage 1: Intelligence Test + Picture Perception Test
- Stage 2: Psychology Test + Group Tests + Interview
For Flying Branch
- Must also clear CPSS (Pilot Aptitude Test)
Final Merit List
Based on written exam + AFSB interview marks + medical fitness.
